As mentioned in the last Activate Your Life article the key to allowing your emotions to flow freely on a day to day basis is to establish a system of Elimination, Expression and Excess.

In this article I will be addressing the need to establish a system of Expression.

The key to Establishing a System of Expression is to perform tasks that you are
passionate about. By performing these tasks you will remain motivated more
consistently and more frequently.

Emotion is energy in motion. Expression of your emotions is paramount in keeping you flowing with positive energy on a daily basis. To block this natural process is to deny your self of being the best person you can be.

The opposite of expression is suppression and if you fail to recognize and then express an emotion accordingly (be it sadness, happiness, fear etc) then it will suppress itself and come up again later to be dealt with. Only this time the emotion will have a far greater amount of energy behind it and this time it may be negative. This can often lead to physical, mental, emotional or spiritual dis ease.

Any unfinished business that you may have listed in your unfinished business worksheet earlier is simply a cycle of energy that has not been fully expressed.

When you start to perform anything (put energy in motion) and then don't complete it, the energy actually remains trapped in the past, which means it is not 100% available in the NOW, or present moment. Therefore, you may feel constantly tired because you are carrying all of that unfinished energy that you had good intentions of expressing.

Goal Setting

Setting worth while goals allows you to move towards a target(s) that is suited to your true being and therefore expresses who you truly are.

Remember, that it is actually the feelings associated with achieving your goals that drives you towards them in the first place. The actual process of achieving them is specifically designed to provide you with an outlet to express your feelings along the way.

The achievement of the goals themselves is important but the feelings you get when achieving them will give you the real fulfillment.

Have you ever set goals and as you worked towards achieving them you noticed that you actually felt the opposite feelings that you had intended?

Whether the feelings were frustration, fear, anger, sadness or resistance you would have noticed that you felt some form of emotional stress.

Usually the feelings are related to your subconscious mind being resistant to change.
These feelings are completely natural and they are just tests of your levels of willingness and commitment to having the life you truly want.

If you deal with the underlying issues causing the emotional stress, by expressing the emotions that you are feeling you will achieve your goals.

Self Awareness

Essentially emotions are the bi-products of your feelings. To truly get the most out of your life on a day to day basis I would recommend that you express yourself freely and seriously attempt to be aware of and feel your feelings at any given moment.

In order to be truly awake to the feelings and emotions you are feeling, it is highly important to stay in the present moment. The more you can stay in the present moment, that is not in the past and not in the future, the more receptive and open you will be to your feelings and expressing your emotions.

If in your mind you are in the past or future, you will never be fully open and receptive to receiving the important messages or feelings that your intuition gives you to take you to where you need to be.

One of the best ways to stay in the present is to meditate.

One of the major reasons meditation is part of the Activate Your Weight Loss Program is to help you to listen to your internal messages, your feelings, your emotions and your intuition.

If you go within you never go without - Troward

With constant awareness of your emotions and a successful system of expression you will get through the short term discomfort and you will be a lot closer to your life of EASE and freedom.

Systems of Self Expression:

A great way to express yourself is to identify the specific activities or people that allow you get in touch with your feelings.

For some people it may be music, art, gardening, singing, theatre, books,  going to the movies or one of the following;

Dancing            Singing            Writing
Golf                Laughter            Painting
Music                Gardening            Socializing
Sex                Acting                 Exercise
Sculpting            Drawing            Reading
Driving            Fishing            Tennis
Watching Sport        Family Outing        Designing Jewelry
Modeling            Hair and Make up        Riding a bike

When you are aware of what it is that makes you the most passionate, attempt to perform it on a regular basis. That way you will be getting in touch with your emotions and allowing energy to be expressed rather than suppressed.
