Coming to Terms with Coming Out
For many gay, bi-sexual and questioning men the process of coming out is a difficult and painful one; especially so when they are met with rejection or ridicule. The reality is that some people respond to this process with love, acceptance and understanding, and some don?t.
But before (and sometimes during, and after) the external coming out process there is the internal one, where you have to come to terms with the fact that you are attracted to men.
Even though gay and bi-sexual men are more accepted now than any other time in our history, the fact remains that living as a non-heterosexual man in a mostly-heterosexual world brings unique and sometimes difficult challenges.
Challenges that heterosexual men, however accepting and supportive they may be, will and can never understand.
During this heart-opening call you?ll have the opportunity to:
- experience complete acceptance of who you are as a gay or bi-sexual man - work through any painful coming out experiences you may have had and come to terms with people who rejected you as a result - identify and work through any homophobia or hetero-sexism that you may have internalised; GLBT people often unconsciously believe that there is something wrong with them and that, based on their sexual orientation, they are inferior to heterosexual people
