More importantly, I felt a shift in myself from it. With this shift I felt a wave of peace come over my body, and [she] immediately melted into me, and fell asleep within a couple of minutes. My husband just went into her room to get his glasses. He came out and said, ‘I don't know what you did, but her body looks more relaxed and open and in a state of trust than I have seen her for months, if ever.’ How's that for results!” S. Kessler “Our daughter was about 18 months old at that time and she started cutting teeth again. She was always cranky. EFT worked very well. If she was crying or having a fit, it would calm her down immediately. This worked so well that we totally replaced the pain reliever with EFT and since EFT is drug free we were able to administer it much more often than medication.” Dianne Keast Kathleen’s newborn baby was sleeping beautifully during the day, but waking during the night. We decided to do EFT for her with the intention of shifting her sleeping pattern by focusing on the idea that she would adjust quickly and easily to sleeping at night. Within a few weeks, her sleeping patterns did switch. They shifted to one wake-up feeding at night giving Kathleen a fairly good amount of rest each night without multiple disturbances. It helped them both create a lovely rhythm. Deborah Miller, Phd - in reference to using EFT ********************************************************************* What is EFT®? EFT® stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques & it was originally developed, by Stanford engineer Gary Craig, as an emotional healing technique based on tapping acupoints on the body. Amazingly, it has proven to be effective at dramatically relieving a vast array of physical symptoms too. With remarkable consistency (50-90% depending on experience) EFT® relieves symptoms via a seemingly strange routine – all one has to do is tap with the fingertips on various body locations while tuned into the pain. Though the method may appear silly at first, it is based on scientific evidence that proves your body’s energy system does exist. Tapping or applying pressure to specific acupoints serves to balance energy meridians which become disrupted when you or your child think about, or become involved in, an emotionally disturbing circumstance – including the experiences of fear and pain. When your energy system is balanced, pain and emotional anguish diminish. Unlike many alternative therapies , you do not have to “believe” the process is going to work, to see results. Typically, results are long-lasting. Even if you think relief from your child’s particular issue is impossible – just give it a shot. You have nothing to lose. How Does EFT® Work? Adults and children alike have energy meridians that run through their bodies - these can be blocked or disrupted by unresolved emotional issues, compromising our bodies’ natural healing potential. Using EFT, it is possible to instantly soothe and, if necessary, revisit events or actions that trigger emotional discomfort in your children’s’ lives – quickly, quietly and gently balancing the disturbed meridians. Properly done, both emotional anguish and physical symptoms will subside. Although based on acupuncture , EFT has simplified the realignment process by gently tapping or rubbing on key meridian points on the head, torso, hands, and occasionally the legs and feet. A basic EFT application focuses on a current issue & includes simple language designed to hold focus and add parental acceptance and self-acceptance to the process. For example, in trying to address an 8 year old child’s fear of spiders, you might have the child say “Even though I have this horrible fear of spiders, I’m a great kid and my mom and dad really love me” while having mom/dad tap through a series of acupoints for the child. If this initial procedure provides significant relief, then re-applying the basic EFT procedure can be very effective. If the fear hasn’t vanished after the initial realignment, subsequent applications would focus on specific aspects of their child’s fear, i.e. the spider’s furry legs, the way it scurries, etc… Advanced EFT application enhances results significantly, and is usually necessary for more complicated cases. As an Advanced Practitioner of EFT, Monika Benoit EFT-ADV can help your entire family take advantage of the full spectrum of benefits EFT offers. $20 for a 2hr session Workshop Dates: Papoose, Norwich, CT Wednesday Evening 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sat or Sun Morning 10a.m. - 12p.m. Is Your Child Difficult to Calm?
