“Don’t aim at success – the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one’s personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself”
~ Viktor Frankl

This is a common mistake I see when people start to intentionally work with the Law of Attraction. They are so excited about it, they tend to overwork a process that is actually effortless. In the course of chasing success, they actually run it off! You see, it doesn’t matter whether one is pushing or pulling; either way, it is still resistance from either Point A or Point B. Playing tug of war is exhausting!

When the LoA is mastered, there is no movement needed. We find the place of stillness, and merely wait with the open arms of grateful expectation. There is no need to rush here nor there, because everything we need is within arm’s reach.

I believe it is worth clarifying exactly what it is I’m saying here. I’m saying that the things we desire in life are not separated from us by time and space. In reality, everything is here and now. We’re in it…surrounded by it. If what we desire has not shown up in our lives, it is not because it isn’t available. It is. We can see it everywhere. Others have it. If “they” have it, it is also possible for us to have it. The only reason we don’t have what we desire is because we hold beliefs that push it away. Clear out the non-serving beliefs and at long last, we are in the flow of goodness.

People who believe it is more money they want often go about drastic measures to attract it. They create elaborate vision boards, they post affirmations all over their home and office, they cancel negative thoughts, and they journal about having a million dollars. Somehow, it most often falls short, however. In defeat and misunderstanding, they give up, believing they did everything they could to attract wealth. But think about that. Did all that action only increase the belief that the money they desire is not within reach? Did they, inadvertently, place it in a future time or place? And even if they focused on this money as if they already have it, did they also clear out all those subconscious, sabotaging beliefs that are whispering it is a lie?

The real question that needed to be asked was, is it really money they want? No. The answer is always no! It isn’t the dollar bills they want, because, let’s be honest…money is nothing more than a bunch of green paper. As a society, we agreed to give it value, but there is nothing really behind it to make it valuable. We live from the belief that money is wealth, but the truth is, it only represents wealth due to our collective agreement to that idea. If the value of the dollar fell to zero, would those pieces of paper be used for anything other than a means to start a warm fire? Money, you see, is meaningless without an emotional attachment. It is the feeling of freedom from financial concerns that these people really desire. What they want is the release of worrying about paying bills. They want to be able to buy things without counting dollars. They want to give to others in need. The funny thing is…all those goals are possible, even without one penny in the bank! One can choose to let go of worry and fear. One can choose to give of themselves in many capacities without having any money at all. If it is money they are working to attract, they should ask themselves what feeling is behind it. What feeling is it they really want to experience? Once they identify that, they will finally know what their true desires are.

Do you want to know how to attract everything you’ve ever wanted into your experience? Put away your scissors. Put down the pencils. Stop making your lists. Quit reciting the affirmations. There is but one thing you must do to create a life of magnitude and wonder. Are you ready?

Stay in the feeling of blissful gratitude as often as possible.

Spend your time giving to others within the means currently available to you. Focus on all the good that is with you right now. Give and receive love every time you are in the presence of others. Find a humanitarian project where you can volunteer your talents and skills for the betterment of society. Appreciate the beauty all around you.

If I ask you why you want a new relationship, you will answer it makes you happy. If I ask you why you want a million dollars, you will answer it makes you happy. If I ask you why you want to follow your passion, you will answer it makes you happy. If I ask you why you want a new car, a trip to Greece or a beautiful home, you will answer it makes you happy. Then it is not things you want…it is happiness.

So, you ask, what if I don’t feel happiness or gratitude? Then, tap on it! Discover why you are resisting it and release the blocks that are pushing it away or grasping in desperation to pull it in.

If your energetic vibration is one of blissful gratitude, you cannot help but attract all the things that bring you joy.

Rather than work so hard to focus on a particular car you want, why not leave all your options open. Let life dazzle you with wonder! Who knows? Maybe you sold yourself short. You were focusing on a red Mustang, but Consciousness wants to bless you with a custom-made silver Ferrari. Why put limits on your joy?

Nothing you can do will bring you what you want in life faster than being in a state of blissful gratitude. It is effortless and available to you in this very moment! Hold a vibration of pure joy, and watch what treasures unfold…effortlessly.

Deepak Chopra, in his book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, says this about the Law of Least Effort:

If you embrace the present and become one with it, and merge with it, you will experience a fire, a glow, a sparkle of ecstasy throbbing in every living sentient being. As you begin to experience this exultation of spirit in everything that is alive, as you become intimate with it, joy will be born within you, and you will drop the terrible burdens and encumbrances of defensiveness, resentment, and hurtfulness. Only then will you become lighthearted, carefree, joyous, and free.

In this joyful, simple freedom, you will know without any doubt in your heart that what you want is available to you whenever you want it, because your want will be from the level of happiness, not from the level of anxiety or fear. You do not need to justify; simply declare your intent to yourself, and you will experience fulfillment, delight, joy, freedom, and autonomy in every moment of your life.

Make a commitment to follow the path of no resistance. This is the path through which nature’s intelligence unfolds spontaneously, without friction or effort. When you have the exquisite combination of acceptance, responsibility, and defenselessness, you will experience life flowing with effortless ease.

When you remain open to all points of view — not rigidly attached to only one — your dreams and desires will flow with nature’s desires. Then you can release your intentions, without attachment, and just wait for the appropriate season for your desires to blossom into reality. You can be sure that when the season is right, your desires will manifest. This is the Law of Least Effort.

Open your heart and let go of resistance. When you step into the presence of allowing, the weight of the world lifts from your shoulders and gratitude overflows. There is no struggle in this experience; rather, it is invigorating.

Make a vow to yourself, today. Promise to allow yourself the indulgence of remaining in blissful gratitude for a moment here and a second there. Return to the feeling of anticipation you held as a child who was surrounded with presents on his/her birthday. In that moment, you had no idea what treasures awaited in the brightly decorated boxes. It didn’t matter. It was the anticipation of receiving that felt so delightful. As you sat in the chair, with candles glowing on the cake, packages scattered on the floor beside you, all eyes on you while friends and family sang a joyous tribute to the day of your birth, you felt the feeling of blissful gratitude. Yes…that, that is the feeling that will draw into your experience all the goodness you could ever wish for.

Shall we open the Presence now?
